Puppetry and Festival venue inspired by stories from the book Einsteins Dreams by Alan Lightman. The describes the different dreams Einstein may have had running up to the release of his paper on the Theory of Relativity. One of the stories theorised that if people only lived for one day, half of the population would live in the darkness for the first half of their lives and therefore live indoors, read books and be extremely intelligent. The other half would live in the sun for the first half of their lives and therefore spend most of their time outdoors and partake in manual labour and sporting activities. Another story talked about the idea that everyone in the world works by either mechanical time or body time. The people who lived by mechanical time were strict, regimented and always did the same things at the same time according to a clock every day. Those who lived by body time didn't restrict themselves to a clock, they would carry out tasks or do things depending solely on how their body felt at the time. I created a venue for a hypothetical Boomtown Festival that linked these stories to music, puppetry and performance. With each time of day came a new performance to represent this time. I created 2D visualisations of all the venues and puppets and then made the night time puppet in 3D.
