Working with Cecil Green Arts, a company previously based in the now burnt down Drummond Mill, I created this lantern inspired by the people who worked in the mill before it closed down. I primarily wanted to pay homage to the people that may have been killed in industrial accidents there throughout its 150 years as a working mill. I created an angel to represent death taking the people away. I didn't want death to be seen as a frightening figure but of a symbol of peace. The angel has so far taken part in 3 lantern parades in different areas of Bradford as of February 2017. All parades were in memory of the fire that destroyed Drummond Mill 28.01.2016
Below are some other images of lanterns I did not make from the parades my angel took part in, for more information on Cecil Green Arts go to www.cecilgreenarts.co.uk or follow them @cecilgreenarts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
